The ELPECAST® casting compounds Wepuran VT 3402 KK-NV and VT 3402 OPAL have been certified by UL (f1). This means that the casting compounds produced by Peters meet the requirements for long-term demanding outdoor use. Referring to UL standard 746C, the suffix f1 means that the material is resistant to UV radiation, moisture, underwater and extreme temperature conditions. UL stands for the registered trademark of Underwriters Laboratories Inc.; Northbrook, Illinois. The certificate attests to the product’s highest safety standards with regard to fire, electrical and mechanical hazards. For Peters, the certificate is an official confirmation that ELPECAST® casting compounds that have been in use for many years, continue to meet the highest requirements.
Used in LED and sensor technologies
Given their extremely high transparency, the casting compounds of the series Wepuran VT 3402 KK are chosen in optoelectronics/LED and sensor technologies, especially in applications where very high demands are placed on optical properties, for example in casting / encapsulating LEDs or optical sensors. The ELPECAST® casting compound Wepuran VT 3402 OPAL features light-scattering properties ensuring homogeneous light distribution, in a way that individual LED light points are no longer visible. Both casting compounds protect and insulate electronic components and assemblies against extreme climatic influences and aggressive media, as well as against mechanical damage.
