With its ELPEGUARD® Sharp Edge Protection (SEP) concept, Peters will be presenting an innovative approach at productronica in the second half of November. SEP addresses the problem of edge loss: Sensitive areas around edges are sometimes not sufficiently covered due the the laws of physics. When applying thin coatings, the coating on edges and tips (e.g. solder pins), due to flow behaviour, is thinner than on flat surfaces. For these sensitive areas, Sharp Edge Protection now provides enhanced protection for electronics against dirt and moisture.

SEP increases insulation strength of electronics
As insulation resistance requirements become more stringent, layer thickness is playing an increasingly important role in industrial applications. With SEP, Peters offers a solution for ensuring sufficient edge coverage for components and IC pins. This increases the service life of electronics in harsh environments, both in standard applications of the range up to 100 volts, and of high-voltage application up to 1000 volts. The ink manufacturer from the Lower Rhine region has three
options in its repertoire for a good edge coverage: One is through special SEP modifications of standard coatings in the acrylic and synthetic rubber fields, another one is through higher layer thicknesses using adapted application parameters, and finally by use of gels, e.g. for solder pins.

At the world’s leading trade fair in Munich from 18 to 21 November 2025, Peters will present the ELPEGUARD® SEP concept to professionals from the industry at stand A2.354.
