ELPEGUARD® conformal coatings
ELPEGUARD® conformal coatings are used to protect and insulate assembled pcbs so that they can fulfil higher requirements regarding reliability and service life.
ELPEGUARD® Thin film coatings
Solvent-containing or aqueous 1- and 2-pack ready-to use systems with very good resistance against moisture and condensation, thus enabling an excellent corrosion protection for assembled pcbs (e.g. e-corrosion and migration), typical dry layer thickness < 80 µm, suitable for coating flexible circuits (“flex-to-install”); can be soldered through for repair or removed mechanically (blasting method); coloured-transparent, opaque or fluorescent adjustments permit a simple checking of the coating layer for completeness by daylight or UV light (black light)
ELPEGUARD® SL 1800 Family
- Base: acrylate resins (AR)
- physical drying
- very good TST resistance (thermal shock test) from -40 to 150 °C or -65 °C to +125 °C, respectively
- good wetting of silicone-contaminated surfaces with conformal coatings of the series ELPEGUARD® SL 1801 FLZ
- can be completely removed for repair by means of product-specific thinner
- auxiliary products recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817 and cleaning agent R 5888 (for cleaning product carriers)
- Application: Brushing, Spraying, Dipping, and Selective coating methods
- Curing: curing at room temperature and thermal curing
- Temp: - 65 to + 125/150 °C

- rapid drying at room temperature
- good yellowing resistance

- auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® SL 1301 ECO-FLZ series
- base: modified polyurethane resins (UR)
- SL 1301 ECO-BA-FLZ and SL 1301 ECO-FLZ/9 series: particularly uncritical in drying below components thanks to special composition of solvents
- free from aromatic solvents such as benzene, toluene, xylene and C9 aromates
- auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817, cleaning agent R 5888

- Curing: curing at room temperature and thermal curing
- Temp: - 40 to + 140 °C

ELPEGUARD® SL 1305 AQ-ECO series
- base: polyurethane resins (UR)
- aqueous, free from NMP, no odour when processed
- rapid drying at room temperature

ELPEGUARD® UTC 1507 FLZ
- base: synthetic rubber (SC)
- permelastic from -65 to +150 °C
- low permeability to water vapour and low absorbance of moisture
- very good electrical insulation properties even under moisture, similar to those of silicones
- protects against corrosive gases at highest severity level GX acc. to ISA-71.04
- auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817 and cleaning agent R 5888 (for cleaning product carriers)

- fungus resistant acc. to. RTCA DO-160G
- cold-flexible along with good adhesion, high thermal shock resistance even with 1000 µm layer thickness
- > 50 % of renewable raw materials
- low solvent emissions (< 5 %)

ELPEGUARD® Thick film coatings
solvent-free 1-pack systems with excellent chemical resistance; typical dry layer thickness > 80 µm, thus providing excellent protection even in critical weather conditions; the fluorescent adjustment permits an easy and reliable check of the coating result under UV light (black light), can be removed mechanically for repair purposes
