ELPEGUARD® conformal coatings​

ELPEGUARD® conformal coatings are used to protect and insulate assembled pcbs so that they can fulfil higher requirements regarding reliability and service life.

Solvent-containing or aqueous 1- and 2-pack ready-to use systems with very good resistance against moisture and condensation, thus enabling an excellent corrosion protection for assembled pcbs (e.g. e-corrosion and migration), typical dry layer thickness < 80 µm, suitable for coating flexible circuits (“flex-to-install”); can be soldered through for repair or removed mechanically (blasting method); coloured-transparent, opaque or fluorescent adjustments permit a simple checking of the coating layer for completeness by daylight or UV light (black light)

ELPEGUARD® SL 1800 Family

  • Base: acrylate resins (AR)
  • physical drying
  • very good TST resistance (thermal shock test) from -40 to 150 °C or -65 °C to +125 °C, respectively
  • good wetting of silicone-contaminated surfaces with conformal coatings of the series ELPEGUARD® SL 1801 FLZ
  • can be completely removed for repair by means of product-specific thinner
  • auxiliary products recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817  and cleaning agent R 5888 (for cleaning product carriers)

ELPEGUARD® SL 1307 Family

  • base: acrylate resins (AR)
  • rapid drying at room temperature
  • good yellowing resistance
  • can be completely removed for repair by means of product-specific thinner
  • protects against corrosive gases at highest severity level GX acc. to Isa-71.04
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® SL 1301 ECO-FLZ series

  • base: modified polyurethane resins (UR)
  • SL 1301 ECO-BA-FLZ and SL 1301 ECO-FLZ/9 series: particularly uncritical in drying below components thanks to special composition of solvents
  • free from aromatic solvents such as benzene, toluene, xylene and C9 aromates
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817, cleaning agent R 5888

ELPEGUARD® SL 1305 AQ-ECO series

  • base: polyurethane resins (UR)
  • aqueous, free from NMP, no odour when processed
  • rapid drying at room temperature
  • good yellowing resistance
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® SL 1347

  • base: acrylate resins (AR)
  • rapid drying at room temperature
  • black-opaque, for strong contrast between LED and non-reflectant base material (of particular benefit in visual LED applications such as display panels etc.)
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® UTC 1507 FLZ

  • base: synthetic rubber (SC)
  • permelastic from -65 to +150 °C
  • low permeability to water vapour and low absorbance of moisture
  • very good electrical insulation properties even under moisture, similar to those of silicones
  • protects against corrosive gases at highest severity level GX acc. to ISA-71.04
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817 and cleaning agent R 5888 (for cleaning product carriers)

ELPEGUARD® SL 9407 FLZ series

  • base: 2-pack polyurethane resin (UR)
  • high resistance against external influences, protect against corrosive gases at highest severity level GX acc. to ISA-71.04
  • fungus resistant acc. to. RTCA DO-160G
  • cold-flexible along with good adhesion, high thermal shock resistance even with 1000 µm layer thickness
  • > 50 % of renewable raw materials
  • low solvent emissions (< 5 %)
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

solvent-free 1-pack systems with excellent chemical resistance; typical dry layer thickness > 80 µm, thus providing excellent protection even in critical weather conditions; the fluorescent adjustment permits an easy and reliable check of the coating result under UV light (black light), can be removed mechanically for repair purposes

ELPEGUARD® UV Twin-Cure® DSL 1600 E-FLZ series

  • base: copolymerisate of polyurethane (UR) and polyacrylate (AR)
  • powerful protection through electrical insulation properties directly after UV curing
  • chemical crosslinking in shadow areas
  • protects against corrosive gases at highest severity level GX acc. to ISA-71.04
  • excellent mechanical resistance
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® UV-LED Twin-Cure® DSL 1602 FLZ/400

  • base: copolymerisate of polyurethane (UR) and polyacrylate (AR)
  • for curing with UV LEDs
  • chemical crosslinking in shadow areas
  • fungus resistant acc. to. RTCA DO-160G
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® UV Twin-Cure® DSL 1707 FLZ

  • base: silicone (SR)
  • good adhesion on all common base materials without adding grip agent (self-priming)
  • powerful protection through electrical insulation properties directly after UV curing
  • chemical cross-linking reaction in shadow zones (condensation cross-linking)
  • enables the micro-encapsulation of small components
  • high thermal shock resistance from -40 to +180 °C even in high layers
  • stress-compensating under thermal shocks and vibrations
  • auxiliary products recommended: Cleaning agents R 5807 and R 5817

ELPEGUARD® DSL 1705 FLZ

  • base: silicone (SR)
  • good adhesion on many common base materials without the addition of grip agent (self-priming)
  • addition crosslinking, thus suitable for a use in encapsulated environments
  • rapid thermal curing (10 min at 100 °C)
  • stress-compensating under thermal shocks and vibrations
  • auxiliary product recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817

ELPEGUARD® DSL 1706 FLZ series

  • base: silicone (SR)
  • good adhesion on many common base materials without addition of a grip agent (self-priming)
  • stress-compensating under thermal shocks and vibrations
  • rapid condensation crosslinking at room temperature
  • Cleaning agents R 5807  and R 5817

thixotropic gels for dam-and-fill applications, ideally suited for a simple and high-definition application of dams around connectors, components and contact pads to limit the application area of a subsequent conformal coating; available in cartridges

ELPEGUARD® Gel SL 1307 FLZ-T series

  • base: acrylate resins (AR)
  • thixotropic and highly thixotropic adjustments
  • physical drying
  • no intermediate drying necessary for conformal coating
  • auxiliary products recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817, dosing accessories for cartridge application

ELPEGUARD® Dam-and-Cure GEL 1602 FLZ-UV

  • Base: acrylate resins (AR)
  • when using ELPEGUARD® thick film coatings of the series UV-LED Twin-Cure® and UV Twin-Cure®, curing can be carried out together with the GEL 1602 FLZ-UV (without intermediate curing)
  • auxiliary products recommended: Cleaning agent R 5817 and cleaning agent R 5888 (for cleaning product carriers), dosing accessories for cartridge application
